STUDENT ADMISSION FROM ABROAD FOR ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS

(2013-2014 Academic Year)

A- GENERAL PRINCIPLES

Students who are currently attending the senior class of a high school or who have graduated from a high school with curricula equivalent to those in Turkey may apply.

From the applicants, the applications of those receiving the base grade or above will be accepted.

B- FOR APPLICANTS:

a) On condition that they have graduated from or are in the senior class of high school, the following individuals may apply:

1) Citizens of foreign nationalities

2) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth and who have obtained permission to renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of the Interior, and for their children under the age of 18, need to prove that they possess the Document Related to Using Given Rights, which they received according to the Law of Turkish Citizenship (in Item 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law number 5901, the following provision is made: “(1) Anyone born, in Turkey or abroad, from the marriage of a Turkish mother or father is a Turkish citizen.” Applicants who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should study the Turkish Citizenship Law).

3) Those who are citizens of foreign nationalities by birth, can later attain Turkish citizenship/ and possess dual citizenship.

4) Those who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and have completed their secondary education in a foreign country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (including those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish schools in a foreign country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus).

5) Those who are citizens of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and who completed their secondary education there according to the GCE AL system, those who were registered in colleges and high schools in other countries and who completed their education according to the GCE AL system between 2005-2010, and those who will have these scores.

b) Applicants Who May Not Apply Include the Following:

1) Those who are citizens of The Republic of Turkey and who have completed their secondary education in Turkey or in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

2) Those who are citizens of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education according to the GCE AL system in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, those who were registered in colleges and high schools in other countries and who completed their education according to the GCE AL system between 2005-2010, and those who will have these scores).

3) Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (a) item.2 above, (except for those who have completed their secondary education in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/ those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish schools in a foreign country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus).

4) Those who hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education according to the GCE AL system in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who were registered in colleges and high schools in other countries and who completed their education according to the GCE AL system between 2005-2010, and those who will have these scores),

5) Those who are citizens of The Republic of Turkey or hold dual citizenship, one of which is citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in the article (a) item 2 above, and who have completed their secondary education at institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Turkey,

BASE GRADES FOR APPLICATION

Applicants should have the following base grades meet the examination conditions below in order to be eligible to apply:

 a. At least 1000 points in total for SAT 1, at least 500 points for mathematics

b. Mathematics and Scientific Logic,

c. GCE (General Certificate Examination / A Level Certificate) At least 3 A Level Certificates, one of which should be related to the program applied for.

d. I.B. (International Baccalaureate) - those with an International Baccalaureate Diploma whose diploma points are at least 28 depending on the department they apply for.

e. Maximum 4 points from ABITUR (German Baccalaureate)

f. Those with a French Baccalaureate Diploma whose diploma point is at least 12/20.

g. In the field of Science (Scientific Stream) in the TAWJȊHİ examination held in Jordan and Palestine, at least 80 points out of 100 from all classes.

h. Those whose diploma point is at least 14/20 in the field of Science (Scientific Stream) in the Baccalaureate examination (Baccalaureat Libanais) in Lebanon,

i. AL-SAHADA-AL TAHANAWİYYA (Syrian, Libyan Baccalaureate), 180 points out of 240 in the field of Science for departments in the Engineering/Architecture Faculties, and for other departments at least 170 points. 

j. At least 480 points out of 750 in the university entrance examination held in the Republic of China(GAOKAO),depending on the points required for the program to be applied for.

k. At least 50 points in the Turkish Republics the Turks Relative Communities Examination (TCS)

l. Those taking gold, silver, or bronze medals in the International Science Olympics, which TUBITAK (The Scientific Technological Research Council of Turkey) recognizes and in which it participates.

m. Diplome DebirestanPisdanesgahi (Iran); the diploma point average in a high school in Iran (DiplomeDebirestan) is at least 17/20 and the Pisdanesgahi diploma point is at least 17/20.

n. At least 90 points from the Kazakhstan International University Test.

o. At least 60 points from the Uan (Ujian Akhir Nasional) examination held in Indonesia.

p. Those taking valid points from OSS-YGS/LYS

 

2)The commission will determine the base points of examinations which are not mentioned above

3) Those applicants who apply to faculties of colleges admitting students according to the results of a Special Skills Test are also required to take a “Special Skills Test”.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION

1. Application Form: (Please click on the link)

 2. High School Diploma: a certified copy of the applicant’s high school diploma, a copy of it translated into Turkish and certified by a notary or by a consulate. (Students in the final grade of high school should authenticate this.) 

3. Official transcript (a document of the applicant’s grades): This shows the classes and the grades the applicants have taken in high school. Applicants should deliver their official transcripts as certified by the directorate concerned with their high school and a certified Turkish translation of them within a closed envelope.

4. The applicant’s original examination (taken in the last two years) results notification letter, or a translated and certified copy of it. 

5. A copy of the applicant’s passport showing only the identity information.

6. Bank receipt showing that the application fee is pai , (Bank name, account number, and amount are given below).

7. Two passport photographs

8. An envelope on which the address of the applicant is written.

 

NOTE:

All the documents must be original or certified copies. Documents sent without an original seal or signature or sent by fax will not be accepted. Applications lacking any of these documents will not be taken into consideration.

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTIONENGLISH PREP-CLASSES:

The language of instruction in our university is Turkish. Students at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of English Language and Literature, and the Faculty of Letters are required to attend and pass a compulsory English Prep-class for a period of 1 year. Students at the Department of Russian Language and Literature are required to attend a compulsory Russian Prep-class for a period of 1 year. Students at the Faculty of Theology are required to attend a compulsory Arabic Prep-class for a period of 1 year. An English Prep-class at the School of Medicine is optional.

Students who pass the English language examination organized by the School of Foreign Languages or students proving that they have received 60 points in the KPDS or UDS exams, 173 in TOEFL, 6.0 in IELTS, a B level in the FCE exam or who receive higher points, will be exempted from prep-class and will start their education in the department to which they have been admitted.

EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS

The commission will evaluate the applications of candidates.

Results will be announced on www.erciyes.edu.tr

Our University will send a letter of acceptance to those applicants who are to be admitted. These applicants should go the Turkish Embassy in their countries (or the nearest) to obtain a “Student Visa”. A Student Visa is required in order to enter Turkey and to register in our University.

The evaluation of applications and the admission of students depends entirely on Erciyes University. Erciyes University is free to fill the quotas or not. If required, additional quotas may be announced. Meeting all the necessary conditions for application does not guarantee admission. The applications of candidates who do not meet the necessary application conditions will not be taken into consideration. The registrations of candidates who are found not to meet application conditions will be cancelled.

International Student Admission Requirements, explanations of the quotas for Associate/Undergraduate Graduate Degree Programmes of 2013

Bk.4. International Students may wish to attend to a one year foreign language preparatory programme depending on the quota. The duration of the Foreign Language Preparatory Programme is exclusive from the years mentioned at the Duration of study.

Bk.21. Students have to attend to a one year compulsory English Preparatory Class. This period is exclusive from the years mentioned at the Duration of study. Those who pass the English Proficiency Exam, may directly register for a Freshman programme.

 a)If the International Students certify that they have passed one of the national or international foreign language exams accepted by our University, they may directly register to a Freshman programme.

 b) International students who pass the English Proficieny Exam at the beginning of the academic year, may directly register to a Freshmen programme. (For further information consult to the university staff).

Bk.115. Students have to attend to a one year compulsory Russian Preparatory Class. This period is exclusive from the years mentioned in the Education Duration Chart. Those, who pass the Russian Proficiency Exam, may directly register for a Freshman programme.

Bk.121. Students have to attend to a one year compulsory Arabic Preparatory Class. Prep Class is exclusive from the years mentioned in the Education Duration Chart. Those who pass the Arabic Proficiency Exam, may directly register for a Freshman programme.

Bk.708. The medium of instruction is at least 30% Arabic for this programme.
