Am I allowed to work while studying?
International students are not allowed to work or hold part-time jobs according to the Principals Procedures of Higher Education. If you provide an Official Work Permit, you may work at other institutions or firms.
What are the food facilities? Where can I have dinner?
You can have dinner on campus at the refectories or dining hall twice a day: once in the afternoon and once in the evening. The cost of dinner is 2 Turkish Liras (appr. $1.10). There are additional food facilities available to you in the cafeterias at our faculties/ schools around the campus.
I was studying at a University, but had to quit or drop my studies. Can the courses that I took and successfully passed at the other University, be transferred to my new department/programme in Turkey?
You may be exempt from those courses. Within 15 days after the academic programme initiates, you should apply for exemption by providing relevant evidence in relation to your previous studies.
I completed my secondary education in Turkey and took Turkish courses. May I be exempt from the Turkish Preparatory Class?
International students, who completed their secondary education in Turkey and those who completed Turkish Elementary School abroad, must provide documentation of taken Turkish courses. Upon review of these documents, these international students may be exempt from the Turkish Preparatory classes.
Does Erciyes University provide a “Turkish Proficiency Certificate”?
Turkish Proficiency Certificates can be obtained from TÖMER (Erciyes University Turkish Foreign Language Research Application Centre) at the university.
Which faculties or schools have the English Preparatory Classes?

Classes are as follows: Faculty of Medicine (non-compulsory), Faculty of
Economics Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of
Architecture, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Arts (English Language
Literature), Faculty of Education (English Language Teaching), School of Civil

What is the language of instruction in the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes?
Turkish is the language of instruction for the Associate Undergraduate Education programme. In the Department of Theology in the Faculty of Theology, 30% of instruction is conducted in Arabic.
Does Erciyes University provide bursary or scholarship?
Our University does not provide bursary or scholarship. Sometimes we are able to collaborate with local philanthropists to provide bursaries to eligible students. The Turkish Government provides some bursaries and scholarships for international students. For further information, please go to this website www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr
Is there any Health Insurance?
You can pay a monthly premium to the Social Security Institute (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu) and buy the 'General Health Insurance' offered to students.
What are the accommodation facilities at Erciyes University? Which dormitories are available for international students?
There are many dormitories on campus operated by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. After you register for a programme of study, you may apply to live in the girls' or boys' dormitory of Kredi Yurtlar Kurumu (General Directorate of Higher Education Credit Hostels Institution). Alternately there are private dormitories which cost approximately $200 per month, and there are also houses or apartments to rent in Kayseri which cost approximately $400 per month.
I have the Blue Card. How much is the tuition fee for the programmes?
Those who have the Blue Card and are offered a place as an international student, pay the same tuition fee as the citizens of the Turkish Republic.
How much is the tuition of the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes?
The amount of the tuition fees are assessed and determined every year by the Council of Ministers. For this reason, the amount of the previous year’s Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes tuition fees is listed on our website.
I hold citizenship in another country other than Turkey, and now I also hold citizenship in the Turkish Republic. May I apply for the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes?
Foreign nationals who later become Turkish citizens and hold dual citizenship may apply to the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes.
I am a citizen of the Republic of Turkey and I have completed my secondary education in a foreign country. Am I eligible to apply for the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes?
Citizens of the Republic of Turkey who have completed their secondary education in a foreign country (other than the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), including those who have completed their secondary education in Turkish schools in a foreign country (other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) are eligible to apply for the Associate Undergraduate Degree Programmes.
Is the International Student Examination held for the entry to the Associate Undergraduate Education programmes?
The International Student Examination (YÖS) is not held at our university. The international student should follow the ‘Instructions’ link which is in Item 5 under the title of E-Documents of our university website (www.erciyes.edu.tr), then applications should be made depending on the exam types and grades mentioned in Item 5.

What is the application date for the Associate Undergraduate Education Programmes?
The application date is between the end of May and the beginning of June for Associate Undergraduate Education. The exact dates for the application can be found on our website www.erciyes.edu.tr. Please be sure that your completed application form and all other relevant and necessary certifications and documents are submitted before the application deadline.
